My thoughts: I've assigned Briggs' Reproducing Empire in my courses, and I learned a lot from it. While the media has framed child separation as a uniquely Trumpian policy, child separation has been used as a terror technique by the United States long before what we're witnessing in the present.  Listen to the talk.
